MaryPat Dorr recently received her BA from Baldwin Wallace University in Arts Management & Entrepreneurship. MaryPat began dancing in the 6th grade when she joined her school’s dance team coached by Bettina Rogers in Kentucky and continued with that until her junior year of high school. She began doing solo work for Diverse Dance Company coached by Rebecca Maguet. She has won awards at competitions in the areas of Jazz, Lyrical, and Contemporary dance. After moving to Ohio, she attended classes at Cuyahoga Community College, where she first studied with Sarah Morrison. After receiving the opportunity to intern for MorrisonDance, she then became a full company member and has continued to work with MorrisonDance over the past four years. MaryPat has assisted for the Wiggle Jig preschool program that MorrisonDance delivers in partnership with Ballet Met Columbus through the Center for Arts Inspired Learning. She has also been a choreographer for Cuyahoga Community College’s annual performing arts camp and is currently an instructor for a children’s hip hop class located in Chagrin Falls. In addition to performing and educating with MorrisonDance over the last 4 years, MaryPat has helped move the company forward in the capacity of a Development Intern, assisting the company in fundraising and web-presence updates.
